Jil Powers
I'm a habitual over-thinker. I write to expose my introspection. My intention is to provoke thought, not to necessarily find resolution. Many or even most of my writing is left open-ended, leaving the reader to ponder without providing an answer or inspiring quote to leave them in a falsely euphoric state. It is not necessarily negative, however, it is not cliche. It’s usually about personal encounters I’ve had or am having. A lot of times it’s being written while I’m still processing these experiences, sharing my raw thoughts and emotions, hoping that others will be encouraged by my vulnerability. It’s a glimpse into my life journey. My writing is not going to tell you to feel certain things, because I want your reaction to be just that – yours. My writing doesn’t have an angle, there are no motives or subliminal messages or agendas. My writing is not going to push any beliefs on you. It may at times push the boundaries, test the limits of social acceptability, and may leave you with questions. In fact, I hope it does.
